Kent love

Despite the creation of this blog for the purposes of documenting my travels over the pond, I want this space to be more than that! I forgot until I started working on this blog how much I missed blogging and sharing my life. I've been itching to post about my general life and thoughts and feelings, both those to do with going away for a year and those about everything else. So I thought I'd do a post about Kent, as it isn't straying too far from this blog's agenda.

I thought it might be interesting for my US friends if they ever read this blog as well :)

My decision to come to Kent was partially made by UCAS and partially made when I came to visit (now over two years ago!) and it is one I have never regretted.

I love UKC and it is just the right mix of intelligent, hard-working people who want to go out and have fun. I have met some amazing people, some of whom are studying abroad and will be there on my return, and others who, sadly, will graduate without me.

In my first year I lived with all boys in the best house in Parkwood (Kent's student village), and here is a hideous photo of me to document it.

Note our overflowing glass box...

And this year I live in an amazing house right next door to Wetherspoons with Adam and Oli (far left and far right in the photo above), Hanna and Alice who we met at freshers and a masters student called Simon who had to fill our northern friend, Chris's, place when he decided to transfer to Liverpool.

The squad when we met during Freshers week!

It's been a funny ol' year so far, with a lot of drinking, possibly even more than last year, a lot of crazy essay stress, lots of bus rides and way too much time spent sorting out adult things like gas and electric bills, replacing light bulbs and sorting out heating. I love everyone here at Canterbury and will miss them all so much in America next year! I thought to finish this really uninteresting, long-winded introduction I'd spam you with a whole bunch of instax photos that I took last year- an absolute obsession of mine!
